Wasn’t a foul but many refs would have given a free kick to the keeper.
And stuck to 94mins

Wolves have luck on their side all right this season. How many injury time winners or equalisers is it now? Must be at least 5-6.

Almost no injuries as well.

Didn't Ramsey's Ipswich win the top division as a promoted club?

Gutted for the Newcastle keeper, he had had a very good game until that and the whistle should have been off.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
I haven't watch them much

But they have lost to Brighton, Cardiff, Huddersfield and Palace. Drawn with Fulham so far.

Win tonight and it will be their longest run of the season, so that probably says we saw them at near their best.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
When they came up they were billed as the Best Ever Team To Be Promoted and think most thought they would do ok.
7th is about as good as possible but top half wasn’t unexpected
Let’s see how we match up when Pellegrini has his second season.

ps The best team ever to be promoted to the top division was Notts Forest.
With us in 1981 not far off

No Secret.
Underestimated by other clubs when they got promoted.

Playing with a nothing to lose attitude (expected to be relegated)

Pardew did same at West Ham Promoted via Play Offs Finished 9th and got FA Cup Final

Second Season Players/Manager took foot off gas (they thought they had made it, was it not Reo Coker that thought he should be at Barconola)

Will see if they can keep it up next season or end up doing a Pardew (Did he not think he should be England Manager)

they play well and they go for it in every game
unlike us
so if they get 7th they deserve it

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
Not according to this mallard...

"Wolves could become the first newly promoted team since Ipswich in 2000-01 to finish in the PL top 7

Only 3 newly promoted teams have finished in the top half in the last 10 seasons, the highest of which was Birmingham (9th) in 2009-10 "

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
They like most teams look fitter than us. Add to that organisation & will to win.
We have a wedge of players that believe just by signing for us means they're set & don't have to put that extra 40% into games to win.

Wolves also sign younger players.
I think we have started to do that but it's taken us about 10 yrs to work that out. The contracts for Wilshere, Carroll, the Arnautovic extension just says clueless management of a football club.
Until we get an ownership that understands that investing in younger players & getting a fitness regime installed at the club the better we'll do.

Our training facilities must also be looked at - endless long term injuries. A major problem there most likely.

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
They are clearly the 7th best team at the moment.
And we are trying to cling onto that second group that they are the top of.
Have had a very settled team for the season, think they picked the same 11 for eight or so games in a row at the start.
